Part 3 FYI: the von Briesen Report Repudiated by the Vilage Board
Be sure to hit the "other posts" button at the end of this article to see other issues facing us as we strive for open, honest, Kronenwetter government.
In the previous two posts I first covered my original rebuttal of the von Briesen report, that was intended for the Village Board and Village Attorney to read before the Aug 26, 2024 Board meeting.

Part 2 gave extensive information regarding how my political enemies Coyle, Vedvik, Voll, etc effectively misappropriated $67,000 of your tax money in an attempt to find wrongdoing on my part.

Much of this was also covered last year in two posts on this site:

As biased, and dishonest as that report was, it surely did not produce the smoking gun that its secret supporters on the Village Board had obviously hoped it would.
In fact, it seems to have had the opposite effect by showing how hard the investigator tried and how badly the report failed at being a successful "hit piece" to attack my character.
By now, many of us know that investigation turned out to be $67,000 in unauthorized cost for a document that was based almost entirely on the investigator's subjectivity. It consisted of cherry-picked evidence, perceptions, opinions and unverified statements of anonymous people who themselves were specially selected for interview to create a pre-determined outcome. Others who had more objective, relevant information to the contrary were excluded from the investigation.
Nevertheless, those who cannot find a valid reason to criticize my service as a trustee have no choice other than to refer people to this discredited document in the hopes that they will believe any of it.
Recent Village Board determined that the "von Briesen Report" was not a credible or reputable document.
At the July 14, 2026 Village Board meeting, the von B Report came up for discussion under Items Q and V.
Item Q was about an investigation of the Kronenwetter Fire Department, and the possible need to hire a lawyer.
I brought up the fact of von Briesen's politicized, inappropriate hired gun tactics in 2024, saying that I would not want the Fire Chief or anyone else getting the same kind of unfair treatment that I had gotten from that law firm.
In discussing a new, proposed investigation at that time, President Baker said at that meeting:"I would agree with that, and the attorney that I talked to at von Briesen agrees with that. He said that is not happening again".
President Baker said: "I am very committed to not having this turn into what happened before, and I believe that trustee Joling would second that".
Joling: "Absolutely"
Various board members agreed that it was improperly done and apologized to me and to the taxpayers for the cost and trouble that it caused.
Trustee Joling said: "This was a really smelly embarrassment. I not only apologize to you Ken, but I apologize to the taxpayers of this Village"
President Dave Baker: " I echo what Dan said, and I don't think this was proper"
We went on to discuss the fact that we did not need to change our policies regarding complaints, but instead just follow the policies that we do have.
The end result of that meeting was that most Board members repudiated the politicized nature and origin of that report.
We eventually agreed to move on from that subject, with lessons (hopefully) learned.
