The Kronenwetter "Organization" - Money for Nothing
Loyalty Has Its Rewards
In late March trustee candidate Kelly Coyle was all over social media doing his thing with pre-election lies about myself and Trustee Sorensen in relation to a confidential investigation report (which he was not even supposed to have access to).
He was once again beating the perennial dead horse of "Charneski's to blame". This time it was all about the very costly "investigation" that as trustee I spoke and voted against. Then Coyle made similar absurd accusations against Trustee Sorensen.
Trustee Jessica Stowell joined Coyle in proclaiming how the coming investigation report would show everyone this "evil conspiracy to attack President Joling" or some such similar incredible BS.
I think it is obvious that Coyle and Stowell were simply engaging in dirty politics for election purposes, while trying to misdirect public attention away from those truly responsible for this (currently) approximately $40,000 "investigation" waste of taxpayer money.
I think that in time everyone will come to know that Pres Dan Joling and Admin James Davel are at the core of creating this "investigation" fiasco. Coyle, Stowell, and Myszka are just minions of what Davel calls "The Organization".
I say "approximately $40,000" because village attorney Remzy Bitar seems to be stonewalling my efforts to obtain the open records of attorney invoices, and probably under orders to do so. I took the Village to court and prevailed on this issue two years ago. Now they are doing the exact same thing again.
This tactic of stalling Open Records fulfillment only serves to reinforce the notion of a "crooked government" with something to hide.
Coyle and Stowell engaged in their goal of an election-time smear campaign. Good for them. But what about this "investigation report" that they touted? Is that all a made up story? After months of "confidentiality" and a report yet to be provided which is supposed to "prove" that Sandi Sorensen or myself are to blame for creating this disgraceful fiasco, I think the public should be looking for answers regarding the high cost, and true purpose of this "operation".
Where is this report, and what have the usual suspects (Dan Joling. James Davel, Kelly Coyle, Stowell, Myszka etc) achieved for that taxpayer money?
My guess is - "Nothing honest, nothing of value that was not known before the investigation." The only thing that I predict, is that it will provide a teachable example of how useless these "third party investigations" really are. (see my other post "The Investigation Part 2, A dive into how these "third-party, outside investigations work.")
If you are one of those who have heard or read Coyle's gossip, even recently, just remember and understand where his motivation and loyalties may lie (no pun intended).
Joling and Davel have secretly arranged for Trustee Kelly Coyle's wife Kim Coyle, the utility clerk, to get a bump in pay of $1000 per pay period, which amounts to $26,000 per year. The Village Board approved it on May 11 behind the public's back in a closed session that was not legally posted for the public to be aware of it.
Since no one has yet determined exactly what Kim Coyle or other such beneficiaries have done or will be doing to deserve this money, some observers might conclude that this is some kind of "loyalty reward" for the past, present, and/or future.
No one has addressed how an hourly union worker can get what amounts to a 50% pay increase without doing anything for it, or without other workers getting the same "pay increase".
This money comes as the apparent spoils of firing former Zoning Director/Community Development Director Peter Wegner "with cause", and divvying up his unpaid wages.
Perhaps the promised "investigation report" will give a clue as to what this inexplicable "ongoing bonus" is all about.
Coyle and Joling admitted to me that this was done at the May 11 closed session (see my two posts "Why I Filed My Open Meetings Complaint" and "My Open Meetings Complaint to the DA").
If you have not heard about Mr Davel's, Joling's and the Village Board's sudden generosity with your money, it might be because you were not supposed to know. This is all part of the "new normal" of secrecy, collusion and apparent conspiracy which seems to prevail with the current Village Board.
